Johnetta Thurston, Founder and Member

Johnetta Thurston brings a wealth of human resources knowledge and management experience to every new challenge.  With over 20 years of human resources experience, she understands people and relationships at a multitude of levels.  Her professional experience has afforded her a unique view of people and business, which gives her a well-rounded and balanced ability to deal with people in various positions.  She is adept at helping companies manage change, develop and communicate policies, ensure compliance, perform HR audits, provide employee training, project management, recruiting, and day-to-day oversight with staff ranging from one to 700 + employees.

Johnetta currently provides human capital management advisory and implementation services and is a general partner and Founder of JDA Management and Consulting Group, LLC. She attended University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and the University of Maryland University College, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with a specialization in Human Resources and Master’s of Business Administration. She is currently pursing a Doctoral degree in Strategic Leadership at Regent University with a concentration in Global Consulting. In addition to her professional affiliations (listed below), she enjoys serving her community as a member of the Boards of Directors of several non-profit organizations that serve at-risk teens, women, and the homeless, and an engaged and active member of Annapolis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Amaris Thurston, Co-Founder and Member

Amaris Thurston has over 15 years of administrative and human resource experience in government contracting, private sector, and healthcare environments. As Partner and co-founder of JDA, Amaris brings a level of dedication, tenacity, and thoughtfulness that is only matched by her great instincts about people and their potential.  She attended University of Maryland Eastern Shore and the University of Maryland University College, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Human Resources and Master's of Business Administration. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Strategic Leadership with a concentration in Human Resource Development from Regent University.
